Cakewalk at NAMM 2012 – Roland Arena (booth #7400)

If you’re heading to Southern California for NAMM this year be sure to stop by the Cakewalk booth, where we have many exciting presentations planned featuring some very special guest artists. And if you can’t make it in person, don’t worry, we’ll have something for you too.

Demonstrations will take place at the Cakewalk booth starting at the bottom of each hour (10:30 AM and so on). A number of these will feature Cakewalk staff displaying the full power of SONAR X1 as the tool for modern music creation and production. You’ll see music develop from blank slate to fully produced using SONAR’s cutting edge features and blisteringly fast workflow. We’ll create and produce tracks showing the wide-range of features available in SONAR X1 Production Suite including Z3TA+ 2 and all the latest ProChannel modules.

New ProChannel Concrete Limiter coming NAMM 2012

Back in October 2011, we released SONAR X1 Producer Expanded which introduced ProChannel modularity. This included the ability to add new modules to the ProChannel. Since that time we have released two Cakewalk branded ProChannel modules, the PC4K S-Type Expander/Gate and the PC4K S-Type Channel Compressor. In addition, Softube has released the Softube Mix Bundle which includes VST and ProChannel versions of the popular Softube Mix Bundle.

So what’s next for the ProChannel? Well we received many requests for a limiter so we set out to create a great brick wall limiter that felt right at home on a channel or bus – perfect for mixing or mastering. Here’s a sneak peek at the new ProChannel Concrete Limiter. And you won’t have to wait long to buy it as it will be available for sale as a download at the Cakewalk Store in time for the start of NAMM 2012.

More information and sound examples will be released at NAMM 2012.

Friday, May 13 – Los Angeles, CA

Luigie Gonzalez 1In the Cakewalk Artist Relations Department we have the honor of working with many producers, songwriters, mixing engineers, composers and musicians on a daily basis.  As we all know (or we should all know), the beauty of SONAR is that not only does it stand out as the premier top-notch Digital Audio Workstation, but it’s also an inspirational and creative workhorse.  Many recording artists and producers looking for a more creative environment turn to SONAR and never look back.  The ability to customize just about anything you want, combined with a complete sonic package of content, plugins, virtual synths and other instrumentation really gives SONAR its award winning edge. TC, and Paul Oakenfold’s Team on SONAR X1

Thursday, February 24th – Hollywood, CA

On a recent trip to Los Angeles, I had the privilege of spending some time with an X1 pro user who really exemplifies the modern day musician on all fronts.  His name is TC (born Anthony Crawford) and he is also known by some in the producing underground as “Spitfire”.  “TC,” as we will refer to him today, is employed by Paul Oakenfold as his main music producer, co-writer, mixing engineer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.  Working in that capacity, on a daily basis TC will mesh with artists such as B.O.B., Usher, Madonna, Lloyd and Rico Love just to name a recent few. SONAR Session – “Self-Contained Music Production” feat. TC aka Spitfire:
As Paul Oakenfold’s in-house writer, mixer, producer and re-mixer, TC will discuss his work being heard in clubs around the world.

TC, AKA – “Spitfire” has burst on to the LA producer’s scene with as much spark as his name.  Hand-picked by Paul Oakenfold to be his main engineer, Spitfire brings way more to the table with his writing, producing chops and musicianship.  Once being grinded through the major label system as an artist, Spitfire has found his calling armed with SONAR X1 and a V-Studio 100 where he is producing, writing and engineering musical masterpieces for such artists as Usher, B.O.B. and Leona Lewis.

NAMM 2010: Creative Tools for Independent Minds

NAMMJet-lagged and exhausted, the Cakewalk crew is slowly recovering from a monumental Thursday through Saturday at the NAMM Show. The weather was beautiful, the show floor was packed and the Cakewalk booth was the place to be.

Each year, the National Association of Music Merchants hosts an industry-wide tradeshow at the colossal Anaheim Convention Center.  If you’ve never been to the NAMM Show, it’s a musician’s paradise, with thousands of exhibitors, live product demos, impromptu jam sessions, and celebrity sightings galore.

The theme for our booth was ‘Creative Tools for Independent Minds.’  As our product line continues to grow from recording software to complete studio solutions, we encourage musicians on every level to take production into their own hands and have fun making music.

Cakewalk Artist Relations Manager, Jimmy Landry put together an all-star roster of artists who appeared and performed in our booth while demonstrating how they use our products on the road and in the studio.
