Winter NAMM 2012 was a huge success for Cakewalk. For the second straight year, we were located in the Roland Arena with a great location right by the entrance. We got to meet a lot of new, existing, and potential users. In addition, we had great demos from some of our favorite Cakewalk artists (and even some special appearances). We also got to show off SONAR X1 Production Suite, the new ProChannel Concrete Limiter, and Cakewalk instruments like Z3TA+ 2, Dimension Pro, and Rapture. We wish everyone could have joined us for the show, but here’s a recap that hopefully makes you feel like you were there. Continue reading “NAMM 2012 in pictures”
TC, and Paul Oakenfold’s Team on SONAR X1
Thursday, February 24th – Hollywood, CA
On a recent trip to Los Angeles, I had the privilege of spending some time with an X1 pro user who really exemplifies the modern day musician on all fronts. His name is TC (born Anthony Crawford) and he is also known by some in the producing underground as “Spitfire”. “TC,” as we will refer to him today, is employed by Paul Oakenfold as his main music producer, co-writer, mixing engineer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. Working in that capacity, on a daily basis TC will mesh with artists such as B.O.B., Usher, Madonna, Lloyd and Rico Love just to name a recent few. TC (A.K.A. Spitfire)
2:00pm Saturday, January 15,
SONAR Session – “Self-Contained Music Production” feat. TC aka Spitfire:
As Paul Oakenfold’s in-house writer, mixer, producer and re-mixer, TC will discuss his work being heard in clubs around the world.
TC, AKA – “Spitfire” has burst on to the LA producer’s scene with as much spark as his name. Hand-picked by Paul Oakenfold to be his main engineer, Spitfire brings way more to the table with his writing, producing chops and musicianship. Once being grinded through the major label system as an artist, Spitfire has found his calling armed with SONAR X1 and a V-Studio 100 where he is producing, writing and engineering musical masterpieces for such artists as Usher, B.O.B. and Leona Lewis.

“Capturing the Moment”
with Recording Engineer and Producer TC (aka Spitfire)
Saturday April 23, 2010 at 11:10am (Runyon Room)
When you’re inspired, it’s critical that you capture the moment before it passes. Getting down an idea for a song is one thing, but wouldn’t it be amazing if what you captured were usable tracks, that sounded great and retained the energy of that first moment of inspiration?
As a recording engineer, producer, and remixer for demanding artists like Madonna, Paul Oakenfold, Michael Jackson, Shifty, and Sergio Mendes, TC aka Spitfire has made a name for himself by having what it takes to work fast and get killer results. In this special session, sponsored by Cakewalk, TC will provide practical advice on working with powerful, yet cost effective tools that you can use to capture the moment as it happens.
