We would like to thank HP for outfitting our entire booth with the latest HP Z Series Workstations and HP EliteBooks. There is no doubt that HP computers are up to the task of handling any recording session you throw at them. The Z800 Workstation, which was used on the main stage, was a rock-solid superstar that barely blinked when thrown even the largest projects. Cakewalk presenters and special artists alike were all impressed with the ease at which it handled the rigors of a\u00a0trade show.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Cakewalk Product Specialist Seth Perlstein\u00a0reports\u00a0that at one point he was running a project\u00a0that contained:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>25 tracks<\/li>\n<li>12 soft synths<\/li>\n<li>65 ProChannel modules<\/li>\n<li>17 audio effects<\/li>\n<li>11 busses<\/li>\n<li>Settings: 1.1 msec latency with a 48 sample buffer (7.5 msec roundtrip latency) at 24-bit\/44.1kHz<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Buffer-Settings3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5970 alignnone\" style=\"margin-top: 30px; margin-bottom: 30px;\" title=\"Buffer-Settings\" src=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/Buffer-Settings3-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"Buffer Settings\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>All of this is using less than 20% of the system resources on the Z800.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/CPU-Meter1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5981\" title=\"CPU-Meter\" src=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/CPU-Meter1-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"CPU Meter\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Over at Roland&#8217;s &#8220;Better Life With Music&#8221; stage, Cakewalk set-up a Z210 CMT Workstation. This machine was used daily for the Cori Yarckin and TC\u00a0artist performance. Again, even with the\u00a0pressures of live performance, it worked flawlessly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/BLWM1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-5987\" title=\"BLWM\" src=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/BLWM1-1024x769.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"385\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/BLWM.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Finally, we used the HP EliteBook 8560w Mobile Workstation on our demo stations. This mobile solution offered more than enough power for serious recording sessions, while still offering easy portability.
