Want your metal drum tracks to sound like the Drums of Doom? Keep reading. This technique transposes a copy of the reverb and pans the two reverb tracks oppositely. It works best with unpitched sounds like percussion.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>1. Insert a reverb send.<\/h3>\n<p>Insert a send in your drum track, then insert your reverb of choice in the Send bus.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Insert-Send2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-19623\" title=\"Insert Send\" src=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Insert-Send2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"196\" height=\"263\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>2. Render the reverb, isolated from the drum track.<!--more--><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-19647\" title=\"Bounce to Tracks Window\" src=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Bounce-to-Tracks-Window.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"294\" height=\"259\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><strong><\/strong>Bounce the reverb sound without any dry signal so that the reverb is isolated in its own track; that way it\u2019s suitable for processing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Probably the simplest option is to solo and select the track to which you want to add reverb, choose (Track View)\u00a0<em>Tracks &gt; Bounce to Track(s). <\/em>In the following window select<em> Buses<\/em> from the <em>Source Category<\/em> drop-down menu, highlight only the bus with the reverb plug-in in the Source Buses\/Tracks box, and then click OK. You now have a new track with only the reverb sound for the track you soloed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>3. Clone the isolated reverb track.<\/h3>\n<p>Copy the new reverb track by selecting it and then choosing <em>Tracks &gt; Clone Track(s)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Clone-Reverb1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-19687\" title=\"Clone Reverb\" src=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Clone-Reverb1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"606\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Pan the two reverb tracks oppositely, but this needn\u2019t be extreme\u2014for example 60% left for one track and 60% right for the other works fine (and don\u2019\u0080\u0099t forget to disable the send to the reverb from the audio track). You\u2019\u0080\u0099ll be rewarded with a bigger, wider reverb sound.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Pan-Tracks.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-19690\" title=\"Pan Tracks\" src=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Pan-Tracks.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"546\" height=\"282\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>4. Transpose it.<\/h3>\n<p>Select the cloned reverb track and then choose\u00a0<em>Process &gt; Transpose<\/em>. Select -1 semitone (or more) for the Amount, make sure Transpose Audio is checked, then click OK.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Transposing-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-19710\" title=\"Transposing -1\" src=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Transposing-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"557\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">But really&#8230;there\u2019s no need to stop there.
