Check out this Quick Tip\u00a0on how to process your drums utilizing the stock ProChannel effects and Session Drummer&#8217;s Tune Parameters.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On your Session Drumer track, load <strong>PC76 &#8211; U-Type Compressor<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Set<strong> Input<\/strong> to 18db<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Attack<\/strong> 0.5-1.0 ms<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Fast <strong>Release<\/strong> 500 ms<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Ratio<\/strong> set to Infinite or \u201cAll Buttons in Mode\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Set <strong>Output<\/strong> so that you are not overloading<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Activate <strong>Console Emulator<\/strong> for more saturation<\/li>\n<li>Activate the <strong>Softube Saturation Knob<\/strong> set this to 2-3 o\u2019clock and set the type of saturation to \u201cKeep Low\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Activate <strong>Breverb<\/strong> Prochannel. Set the parameters to a rather short Room Reverb<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Drums are now over-saturated and over-compressed<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F105269810&amp;color=ff6600&amp;auto_play=false&amp;show_artwork=false\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Now that you have the basic foundation for a distorted\/saturated\/pumpy\/electronic drum sound lets Mangle it.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Activate Write Automation on the <strong>Session Drummer<\/strong> Track in the Track View<\/li>\n<li>Open the interface for <strong>Session Drummer <\/strong>\u00a0and go to the Mixer View<\/li>\n<li>Activate the <strong>Write Automation<\/strong> within the Session Drummer VST Plugin<\/li>\n<li>Play the track and move the \u201cTune\u201d knob (with your mouse or your MIDI controller) for the <strong>High Hat<\/strong> in rhythm to create tuning aliasing. This will be labelled &#8220;Tune 03&#8221; in your automation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Session-Drummer-Automation-Parameters-e1376419044837.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11280\" title=\"Session Drummer Automation Parameters\" src=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Session-Drummer-Automation-Parameters-e1376419044837.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"175\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Once this is done minimize the interface for <strong>Session Drummer \u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Within the <strong>Track Pane<\/strong> using the <strong>Edit Filter go to Automation &gt; Session Drummer x64 1 &gt; Tune 01 <\/strong>(Kick Drum Tune Knob)<\/li>\n<li>Select the\u00a0<strong>Draw Tool<\/strong>\u00a0and draw in some nodes that closely match the same curves and structure as the automation we just laid down.<\/li>\n<li>Open the Automation Lanes to see the automation data side by side<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Automation-Lane-Tune-01-and-03-e1376417722464.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11278\" title=\"Automation Lane Tune 01 and 03\" src=\"https:\/\/noelborthwick.com\/cakewalk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Automation-Lane-Tune-01-and-03-e1376417722464.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"136\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><em>Deactivate the Write Enable buttons just incase you are no longer going to automate any more parameters<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As you do this feel free to adjust your compression, saturation, tuning, tempo, and automation to fully customize<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F105265549&amp;color=ff6600&amp;auto_play=false&amp;show_artwork=false\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SONAR X2 Producer&#8217;s versatile drum production tools allow you to get creative with your sound.
